I am now the Nursery Music Leader. Hurray! We have four nurseries so I'm pretty busy, but it is so much fun. Last Sunday was my first day and I must admit all that up and down with the kids made my quads sore the next couple of days. Perhaps I'm not getting nearly the exercise I should be getting.

Here are some hand puppets I made to use with the children when singing"Happy Family" and a couple other songs. If you have ideas of songs your children liked to sing at that age or ways to make singing time more spiritual or fun please let me know.

Do you remember our Family Night favorite opening song? My nursery loves it. It's more of a finger play than a song. Here it is if you can't remember all of it.
Hammer, Hammer
Pound, Pound
Hammer, hammer
Round, round
Hammer mighty
Hammer great
Write and write on Golden Plates
The kids also love 5 little monkeys. This one is a bit different. Here it is.
5 little monkeys swinging in a tree
teasing Mr. crocodile, you can't catch me, you can'c catch me!
Along comes Mr. crocodile as quiet as can be and ....... snap! (Clap hands together)
4 little monkeys swinging in a tree
etc..... down to no little monkeys swinging in a tree. The last line goes like this:
away swims Mr. crocodile as happy as can be.
Ah yes the Hammer Hammer song. I've been thinking of too many songs and realizing I forget some of the best. We do the 5 little monkeys song too except with just 3 little monkeys.
That actually sounds like a fun calling. I would think nursery kids would be an easy audience for singing time. It alwasy seemed to be the nursery kids favorite part (other than snack time)We never had it together enough to call a nursery song leader though
