Leprechaun Traps

Lauren came home from school yesterday insisting that Leprechauns were real. She was determined to build a trap and catch one. Her trap was pretty clever and she waited by it for a long time, but no little Leprechaun came. She didn't believe me when I told her they were just make believe. It's funny because she knows about Santa and the Tooth Fairy not being real. I finally tried to tell her that all the Leprechauns live in Ireland so they weren't here, but she didn't buy that either stating that they were everywhere on St. Patrick's Day so they could pinch anyone not wearing green.

Here is her original trap. She set a small box on the floor with the coin trail to lure the Leprechaun in. Then she piled the big boxes for her to hide behind. When the Leprechaun came she would throw the water gun at the trap and knock the box over on top of it.
The Leprechaun didn't come right away so she decided to get sneaky. The purple things by Spencer are some speakers and behind the boxes is the microphone that goes with them. Next to the purple speakers, propped up by the pen, is a little Leprechaun she drew and cut out. This decoy Leprechaun is going to tell the real Leprechaun that the coins are safe and he should go get them from the box. She also decided to use the sword to tip the box over since her aim with the pistol was not very precise.

Rebekah that's hilarious!! Extremely creative, though - I'm pretty impressed! And I'm so glad you blogged about this - she's going to love it when she's older.
