The newest potty training scheme, since the underpants bleed, was devised by Grandma Snow. Spencer and Lauren each helped to draw a picture of Link. Whenever Spencer does his business in the potty he finds a heart piece for Link and gets to put a little heart sticker on his picture. Lauren finds heart pieces for her Link by doing reading lessons each morning. When they collect 5 heart pieces they get a prize. The prizes include baking cookies or bread, Easter candy, playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl and other Link related stuff. Today the kids have five heart pieces so we made cookies!
Interesting. I like the idea, which is far more creative than I would have been. So here is the question, what do I need to do to get some of those cookies?
Great ideas! I need to motivate kids to help keep the house clean. We are looking for systems that work for other people so thanks for sharing. I like the idea of making treats as rewards. I love making treats but i don't think it is a good idea just to do it for the heck of it too often. If it is a reward it might be more justified.
Oh treats are totally justified as a reward as long as the work done to earn the reward is equal to the reward. Spencer is getting so good at going in the potty in the morning I think we may start spacing him out to 10 hearts.
Allison, you should write 5 hillarious blog posts. Then you can get some cookies.
I am a mother to three beautiful and intelligent children. My husband is the most wonderful man in the world and a lawyer, if you can believe it. I love to read, sew, cross stitch, cook, and watch PBS. Nova is one of my favorite shows. I finally have a beautiful home with a fun sewing room and I am getting to some of my piled up projects. I am excitedly anticipating winter snows which will signal the end of weeding and mowing for a season. Those hours will be filled with sewing!
