Big Decisions Part 2 - Finally

I am so glad that I can finally make this post and so very excited. We are moving to Utah at the end of the month. This is actually the third home we were bidding on in the past few months. The first home we found ended up having foundation issues which was really disappointing. The second home was in a beautiful neighborhood, but was a flip needing a bit of work. This last home is amazing. Here are a few pictures from the listing.

This is the front view of the home. Nice long driveway to shovel in the winter.

View of Utah Lake from one of the bedrooms.

The amazing garden outside the kitchen. I shall try really hard not to kill anything too quickly.

Side yard with gate and arch. Again, trying not to kill anything.

Triple level deck system in back. Great staining opportunities for the kids when they get older.

Kitchen, just because I'm so excited it's so much bigger than my current kitchen.

Top deck
Backyard with full fence. Another staining opportunity. The trampoline is not staying!

Santa Claus can now visit us. . .
twice.

The home is at the end of a cul-de-sac on the bench of the mountain in Pleasant Grove. We will take possession and move in on the 29th. Going to be a crazy couple of weeks til then, but I am so excited. It's about 4,000 square feet so when you come visit us it won't feel quite so cramped anymore.

Ben has been offered a position as a policy advisor and strategy consultant for a leading Republican candidate for Governor of California in the upcoming 2010 elections. He'll be able to develop policy positions and hopefully save California from it's financial and moral woes. The position will allow him to be pretty flexible and spend most of his time in Utah while traveling occasionally to Sacramento. I think it is a perfect way for Ben to use his talents and brilliance to help make the world better and still doesn't require him to be the candidate and thus recipient of all the bad press and nasty comments associated with a campaign. That will hopefully make his dabbling in politics easier on me.

Look for my next post of the things I won't miss about living in an apartment. I'll have to prioritize them carefully so I only bore you with ten.

Angelic, I'm afraid we have to wait a few more years. But if our kids keep settling out there it is going to happen eventually.

Thanks for the pics! The yard and kitchen are my favorite; I know the freedom both will bring over what you've had. Hooray! We'll miss you, though.

Well, finally some of the stress will go away. Of course we are very happy for you. The house looks wonderful and the job sounds like it could be interesting and a jumping off point to a career in politics, if you want it to be that is.

Hey there! That is SO exciting. I am REALLY into politics so I will be sure to watch that race closely. How neat. And congrats on closing on your house soon. We just went through that and GLAD its done. I did not expect you to be moving to UTAH? I must ask how you decided on UT. Are your or his parents there? I also noticed that your kitchen looked similar to your Chgo Hts house, don't you think?

I just got your letter and couldn't wait for the mail to deliver my response. I'm SO happy for you and Ben! You will be so happy here and Ben will really enjoy dipping his toe in that pool. CONGRATS! You must call me when you get here, because Lexi is dying to see Lauren. We are so excited to have you a hop, skip, and a jump away. Love this decision! :) Happy packing. I wish I could return the favor and pack you up, but I hope you'll at least call me to help you unpack when you get here.
