Our First Harvest

So exciting to have a garden! Lauren and I picked green beans last night. There were a lot more than we anticipated. We'll have them for two meals instead of one. Next will be some tomatoes and then hopefully a good crop of carrots. We also have some squash growing, but I don't know what kind. We have one apricot that weathered the late frost and a bunch of peaches. Gardens are such fun even if you have to weed like crazy.

Nice, we've gotten some peas and a few tomatoes and a lot of weeds. Being gone for 3 weeks really helped the weed crop. I just made a redwall recipe that was really good. I'll have to post it so you can try it with all your yummy veggies.

Wait until you start canning those peaches! What fun that is!

I'm so happy that you are excited about your new home and that you are near family. SO fun to have a garden. Your home looks beautiful! We met a dog named Spencer the other day and Nix looked at me and smiled nodding. He was thinking of his friend Spencer. Your family will be missed.

Hooray! I'm so excited you have plant to harvest already. I don't know how your kids are, but mine will eat almost anything if they see me pick it from a plant. And Anne loves to plant seeds (while Jodi loves to beat the plants with a shovel). I was glad to see the boxes are almost gone. I miss you!
