Lauren and Spencer love Windwaker Link. Recently I began some serious knitting and the first projects were Link hats. Now I am supposed to knit green tunics, brown leg warmers/boots, and gray bracers/wrist warmers. You can guess what the Halloween costumes will be this year. I like indulging the children's creativity, though. They come up with such clever, funny adventures to have and props are always helpful on their quests.
Last week I was sewing and the kids decided to go sailing. Lauren's birthday chair became the King of Red Lions, Link's boat in Windwaker. It was so funny listening to them as they played out the game's storyline. Lauren was the leader naturally. Not only is she older, but she is also far m
ore articulate and well versed in the story. She did a great job of sharing with Spencer too. He got to hold the telescope, it was actually a kaleidoscope, and they both had swords and hats. They set sail in the boat after purchasing a sail from me. I got to be the shop keep. It is amazing to me how they have so much fun acting out these games and using whatever objects they can find around the house to be the items they need. As long as they have the authentic hats and swords they are set. The game went on for about two hours and the only scuffle I had to settle was when Spencer accidentally poked Lauren's eye with his sword while on the boat. It was a little cramped for both of them. Soon, though, Spencer will have his own boat. ;) It was so nice to be able to sew for two hours. I only had to stop a few times and sell them potions and heart pieces. As soon as I can I will put up some pictures of my sewing project.

Hi Rebekah! I just wanted to tell you that your children are absolutely adorable! Congratulations on the pregnancy. I hope all goes smoothly for you.
Oh, this is Ronda (Prickett) by the way. You can check out my blog if you want; it is: http://matt-ronda-gmfx3.blogspot.com/
I bet you played the shopkeep well. I am remembering your blog with the u-tube clip that was hilarious. Was that your inspiration in acting the role? Good for you knitting...yet another friend/family member who can do that and I cannot.
I guess I better get sewing! I have a picture somewhere of Grandma Bennion playing with her siblings and they made fighter planes out of orange boxes. I'll have to send you the picture. I thought of it as you were describing your children using what ever they could find in their imaginary play.
Hey Rhonda! Nice to see you. No worries Kristin. I am far from great at knitting. One reason I have so many projects for the kids is because those are all my practice pieces. At some point I'll have leg warmers and wrist warmers for myself.
